A security camera or surveillance camera is used to observe an area. A security guard watches the activities in the security camera and is connected to a recording device or IP network. The time taken to install a security camera is about four hours to a day. The benefits of using a security camera is that the residents of particular area feel safe and protected. Aside from residents feeling safe and protected, business are also protected from theft and loss of money. The three steps in installing a security camera include; preparing the home, installing the camera and consolidating your surveillance system.
In preparation of the home the first sub step is making a diagram of your surveillance needs that is having a rough sketch of the house. The diagram encompasses the various areas in which the cameras might be placed. Some possible areas for the camera is the staircase, porches, driveways, large common spaces among others. After the diagram is drawn the package that suits your needs is bought. The right package is bought after making the diagram of your surveillance needs.
Each security system piece is bought individually though its expensive. A recording device and monitor is set up after the security cameras have been bought. Footage are viewed through a digital video recorder which is required. The digital video recorder receives all the video feeds and broadcasts them onto a monitor.
When the recording device and monitor is set up testing of the equipment is done. Before installation of anything the cables, digital video recorder monitor and cameras are ensured to be working. The next major step is installing the camera and its started off by choosing a high, broad angles for the camera. Choosing an angle for the room needs to be at the corner where the ceiling meets the walls. The mount is first placed on the desired location, then using a sharpie, marks are made on the wall to where the screws go these are the first processes of mounting a camera on the wall. Drilling a hole using an electric drill, then hammering molding pins, screwing the mount into the wall and finally positioning the camera to the desired angle are the other steps followed in mounting a camera.
The camera is then connected to a power source after mounting on it on the wall. Many cameras have power adapters and they are plugged in directly to the wall socket. A wired camera is then attached to the digital video recorder after successful connection to the power source. Feeds are viewed after linking the wireless cameras to the computer. Then attaching of the monitor to the digital video recorder is followed through using your preferred connection. When all these is done the surveillance system is consolidated by firstly creating a central surveillance hub. The central surveillance hub is required to be easily accessible.
